• Question: why do people have ears, why dont we just have holes at the side of our head?

      Hi Fayeadamou,
      A good question! One that google didn’t really help me with so I will have to tell you what I think is the reason we have ears!
      I think there are a few functions for our ears, firstly they protect our inner ears from things, our inner ears are very sensitive so it is good that we have ears to stop too much stuff getting in. Also they help to direct sound into our inner ears, this is more obvious in animals like cats where they can turn them but they do help to funnel sound into our ears.
