      Hi chlocharbell,
I would have less paperwork. I would also have less managers and more nurses and doctors!

      Hi Chlocharbell,

Wow, this is a toughy! Where i’m from in the Republic of Ireland, we don’t have a public health care system like the NHS and if you want to see your GP, it’ll cost you about €50 each time! So when I moved to the UK I thought the NHS is great!! But after being here a couple of years I know that there are a lot of problems with it. First I would try and reduce the amount of people who abuse the NHS. Then I set up a priority treatement system that would actually work so that people who were really sick could get seen by a specialist as quickly as possible and then I think what Pam says is spot on too. Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system so they should be treated well, not over worked and there should be more of them!

Thanks for your great question Chlocharbell. What would you like to see changed?

      Hi chlocharbell!

Well, it’s a great system and maybe better (or at least, fairer) than its alternatives. The problems arise because it’s abused in so many ways, and the way its run, or managed, is occasionally very poor. Free health care however is a good thing, and a fair thing, because disease and health conditions do not choose rich or poor, it affects everyone, but getting the best treatments and drugs would need lots of money!

      I hope that helps
