• Question: is it true that you cant hear in space

      Hi rockstar98,

      It is true yes. This is because space is a vacuum which means there is no air and no gas. Sound on earth requires air – and no vacuum. This is because sound is basically a movement and bouncing of air waves. If there is no air, there is no sound I think!

      However, I expect many things in space could make sound! Think of asteroids hitting each other and suns and stars exploding. But I do not think we could hear it!
