• Question: If you could only go down in history for one thing, what would it be and why?

      Hi Dan!

      Well I am not necessarily interested in getting any fame, but I think if I could do anything which could change the world so well that it would mean going down in history, it would probably be involved in eradication of horrible diseases – particularly malaria, HIV and tuberculosis. We managed to destroy the awful killer virus smallpox, I think we should at least try and eradicated another human disease.

      I would love to help with that, and I hope some people can do it soon

      Hello Dan,

      Many life events will always remain in our memories, but some will always be a life time motivator of what we are till date.

      I was a victim of malaria attack and ever since I gained more scientific knowledge about the life-cycle of malaria and all the attempt to get a cure or eradicate malaria, I have dreamt to get involved.

      My work in the laboratory , experience of being a victim and the havoc malaria are causing in Africa and other parts of the world, have made me dream of getting involved in any research that could lead to finding a cure for malaria or ways to eradicate mosquitoes carrying the parasites. I believe malaria is a disease that can be eradicated when you think about its low incidence in developed countries unlike HIV.

      Considering the number of children that die every year from malaria, It will be worth-while and go down the history if I will be involved in such a world life saving research and life time achievement as a scientist.

      I believe sometime in the future malaria and other diseases will be eradicated from the face of the earth, so that every part of the will be inhabitable to everyone.

      Hi Dan,

      Wow, I don’t think I can compete with Johnson’s answer really. But if I could be remembered for only one thing, it would be for, obviously, doing something good to start!

      I really like telling people about science so I would like to be known as someone who had a great understanding of how systems work and who could teach that understanding to other people.

      My science won’t end world hunger or cure millions of people but it could improve their livelihoods and improve the life and productivity of their animals. So Iā€™m not going to be unrealistic and say that this will get me in the history books, but to be remembered by many as a good teacher, that would make me proud!!

      What about you? 150 years from now, what would you like to read about yourself in the history books (obviously when you visit earth as a ghost!) šŸ™‚
