      Hi Poppy

I cannot give a precise number, but the sizes of classes we could teach are between 20 and 30. I think the real benefit is that if it successfully excites young people enough to continue into science, it can really be beneficial to the UK and the whole world. The world now faces so many problems and issues – from healthcare issues, to global warming and extinction of species.. We really know so little from the total science knowledge. It is very important in the future that we have new, young scientists to grow up and add to human knowledge.

The prize of £500 can stretch a very long way within the scheme I mentioned, and can support maybe hundreds of children. It’s such a great experience for them, and I have been there to see it myself.

I hope this answers your question well, please let me know if you have any other thoughts,

      Daz
