      Hi Erin95,

      Great, smart question!

Firstly, thank you. I hope the other students agree too. For doing something as simple as clicking a button a few times and voting, you guys can make a huge difference to these kids lives.

But you are right, £500 won’t buy very much. But it’s a great start to set up a new school with new cool equipment. What science equipment do you think we should get them if we win? Remember these kids will be aged from 4-12 so we’ll want something that everyone can use!

For futher funding, each kid is sponsored by a person or a group of people. When they are young, this money goes towards buying them clothes and a little is saved each month so that when they are old enough, they can go to a good secondary school, and in Tanzania all the good ones, you have to pay for!

Louise (my friend who founded the orphange) works day and night organising fundraisers, sponsorship and for volunteers to spend time out there in Tanz, either teaching the kids, helping build the new school or even to just play with the kids! She really is amazing! In the last 6years she has made enough money to buy a wee farm so that they can grow crops and raise animals for food and also to sell so that they can make some money. It’s on this farm that the new school is being built while I type, which will be ready in August!

So to answer your question, the £500 will really help but the findraising never stops!! But it’s so worth it!! I hope you agree 😀

Let me know if you have any more questions,

      Cat
