Hi ella97,
Well the ones on here especially in the live chats have to be off the top of my head!! The ones in this section get a little more google time!!
I do alot of research on the internet to find answers to my problems. I find what other people have done and see how that applies to what I am trying to do. I then test any idea (hypothesis) I have in the lab and see how that matches up. I then look again at what other people have done to see if I can gain anymore insights. It kind of goes round and round like that!
So I would say about 1/4 of my time is spent trying to find answers then some time planning stuff and the rest of the time testing my ideas in the lab!
I hope that helps.
Pam
It depends really! So sometimes I fall down the rabbit warren of looking for answers. So I research something that looks interesting then that leads to another thing and another. Normally I do quite a bit of research to make sure my idea is solid then do lots of practical testing to see if it works the way I think. So in a way to get the answer it is both, I use the thinking to guess the answer then the practical testing to see if it is right. I hope that makes sense 🙂

Thanks for answering! Does finding answers contain more thinking or practical testing?|
