Hi cas151,
I am very sorry to hear you have arthritis that must be hard. I know a little bit about it as I did a bit about it at university. It is not something I study now but if you have any specific questions I would be happy to look back at what I did and see if there is anything I can tell you.
I look forward to hearing from you
Pam
Oh poor you! That’s awful. But you are so lucky you didn’t live 50 years ago. Now we have such great treatment that will ease the pain!
As you are very aware of, there are loads of different kinds of arthritis, some that affect young people and some that effect old people. They can be caused by different things but the pain results from your body kinda attacking itself because it thinks it can make you better!
I had a friend at school you had arthritis and she used to say cold mornings were the worst! Is yours the same? I hope you are getting good treatment so the pain isn’t too bad?
Remember that people with all sorts of problems, medical issues and disabilities go on to do great things! I know you can’t compare but I have dyslexia and that didn’t stop me becoming a scientist!
I do not know much, and I am very sorry to hear about you having it. I do know that there are a variety of ways to treat it – sometimes with drugs, maybe surgery of some kind. There is many excellent resources about it online – this one from the BBC is pretty good (http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/physical_health/conditions/in_depth/arthritis/)
