      Hello Charlottedavies,
Yes, I believed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon on July 20th 1969.
The “moon race” was an extension of the cold war between America and Russia. It was mostly about national prestige and world recognition for both countries. America got there first before Russia and achieved the primary aim.

There have been several trips to the moon and each came back with some good science: surveys, measurements, sample collection. But it was mostly about being there first. After they achieved their primary objective, there was no political will to go back.

Apollo 17 was the final lunar landing mission of the Apollo program, and remains our last visit to the moon. The 3-man crew – Eugene Cernan, Ronald Evans, and Harrison Schmitt – made 75 orbits of the moon and spent over 22 hours on its surface. They brought back over 240 pounds of samples from the moon. Fortunately, back then, they were not required to pay for their excess baggage

      Hope this helps.
      Johnson.

      Hi Charlottedavies,

Yes, I do also believe they did. Usually it is a similar kind of person who thinks that aliens visit earth (which governments deny), but similarly believe we did not land on the moon (which governments tell us).

It’s nice to think and consider either option, but the mechanics and engineering required to get to the moon do exist and I believe they could have done it.. Maybe they didn’t in the past and it could have been a lie, but the technology certainly exists, so why not 🙂

      What do you think Charlotte?

      I hope this helps 🙂

      Hi Charlotte,

I also believe that Neil and Buzz landed on the moon….mainly because my sister (at the age of 10) had dinner with Buzz Aldrin and he told her all about it. That’s pretty cool right? I was of course dead jealous but my littlest sister has always been ‘sciencey’ so she appreciated it way back then. It hasn’t made her study anything to do with space though, she’s at Uni right now studying zoology so she’s like me and wants to learn more about animals!

I have read some of ‘theories’ about whether we’ve ever landed on the moon, and like Daz says a lot of these people are likely to believe in alien encounters (something I don’t like to even think about, I’m a total scared-y cat) and also believe that the holocaust never happened…….which it most certainly did 🙁

You are totally right to be sceptical and it’s this scepticism that makes great scientists but when so much evidence is placed before you, there comes a time where you have to start believing!

Do you think it happened Charlotte?

      Cat
